Our History
Empire Truck Rebuilders, Inc. was formed in the Mid 50’s by the late Andy Baumer of Tulsa, OK. The business was purchased by G. C. “Jerry” Moore in 1956 which at the time was “Empire Auto Rebuilders” located at 1131 East Archer in Tulsa, OK. Jerry primarily repaired and painted wrecked automobiles and pickups in the beginning; however as the need for a commercial truck repair facility in Tulsa grew, he began to shift gears and started repairing the larger transportation equipment. The truck repair business grew and soon the name on the building changed to Empire Truck Rebuilders.
In the early 70’s, Richard L. Moore began working in the family business. Richard became the President of the company and shortly after, Incorporated the business. In 1973, the beginning of an Energy Boom for Tulsa, Richard bought the land where Empire is located now at 1201 West 41st St in Tulsa, OK and built a state of the art repair facility that had 2 Paint booths, 2 Make Ready bays and 8 Service bays.
The company continued growing throughout the 70’s and early 80’s with Richard adding a Truck Frame Straightening Rack and Alignment Rack in the early 80’s and later adding a longer alignment rack and 2 additional service bays, bringing a total of 17 Service bays to work on trucks.
